Relic Heirs Q&A

After the completion of Relic Heirs on Royal Road, I hosted a Q&A session for my readers. Below are the contents for future preservation.

Tutpuppy wrote: “Looking forward to more stories!”

Thank you. Your continued support is part of the fuel that pushes me forwards every time I write.

Kleptomaniac inquired: What is the White Choice? The killing of the potential Heir? Or something more esoteric?

Great question! Here is an excerpt from the book Bridget found on her father’s desk:

“…Rogan and his cohort put up a glorious – but brief– struggle. By the time his mother’s blade found his spine, two of her hunters had joined the bodies of his friends on the forest floor.

The trees trembled as the youth dropped to his knees, jerking forward in choking confusion.

“I was chosen.” He gasped. A weapon that matched the one protruding from his back disappeared from his hand, turning to silver dust. “How could you?”

Tears fell from Lona Salveslight’s as she opened her child’s throat, letting his body fall to the ground. The dark stone of her instrument did not waver, even as ancient, thudding rhythms filled her ears.

“My choice was better,” she whispered, closing his eyes.

In her hands, the material of the tool began to lighten, and the huntress straightened, returning to the horses without a backwards glance. Wordlessly, she thrust the blood-soaked blade into the hands of a dark-curled little girl who had beheld all with quiet, learning eyes…”

What’s your next book about?

I’m hoping to focus on the relationships between mentors and mentees as a major theme, alongside the exploration of love as a choice we make despite knowing others’ flaws.

Why is the previous answer so ambiguous?

I don’t want to give too much away yet.

Well, then, what can you give us?

My current goal is to have the first chapter uploaded on August 2nd!

Last, but certainly not least, Kleptomaniac asked: I saw on your website that you have uploaded another series called “The Clutch of Sharys”. Do you have any plans to bring that to Royal Road in the future?

Ah. The easy answer to this question is sadly, no. Not currently. TCOS (The Clutch of Sharys) is a female-centric dragon-riding epic that was the second book I ever wrote. Relic Heirs is the third! Unfortunately, as is often the case with old writing, the quality is not the same level as what I can produce today. I would need to go over and redo a great deal of the book before I could be comfortable re-releasing it here.

I’m not the same writer now as I was when I wrote it.

I love Cara, I love the Clutch. Much like Briddy’s story, I hope to one day have a career where I can revisit and breathe into them the force of creative life that they, as inspirational concepts, deserve.

That should be everything answered, and my sincere thanks to those of you who submitted questions! Until next time, I’ll be organizing the one hundred and nineteen pages of notes that I currently have compiled for this next project and losing myself in a brand new legend.

Are you ready to meet me there?
